What is this all about anyway?

I haven't decided if I will lose an Average Adult Male or if I will end up closer to losing the complete Oxford English Dictionary. What am I talking about you ask? Check this out:

1 pound = a Guinea Pig
1.5 pounds = a dozen Krispy Kreme glazed donuts
2 pounds = a rack of baby back ribs
3 pounds = an average human brain
4 pounds = an ostrich egg
5 pounds = a Chihuahua
6 pounds = a human skin

11 pounds = an average housecat
12 pounds = a Bald Eagle
15 pounds = 10 dozen large eggs
16 pounds = a sperm whale's brain
20 pounds = an automobile tire
23 pounds = amount of ****a an average American eats in a year
24 pounds = a 3-gallon tub of super premium ice cream
25 pounds = an average 2 year old
30 pounds = amount of cheese an average American eats in a year
33 pounds = a cinder block
36 pounds = a mid-size microwave
40 pounds = a 5-gallon bottle of water or an average human leg
44 pounds = an elephants heart

55 pounds = a 5000 BTU air conditioner
60 pounds = an elephants penis

200 pounds = 2 Bloodhounds
235 pounds = Arnold Schwarzenegger
300 pounds = an average football lineman
400 pounds = a Welsh pony

As of today I have almost lost a 5000 BTU air conditioner. Ridiculous right? Sounds better than saying I've lost 53lbs.

This blog will be about my journey to lose a crapload of weight that I have gained over the past 14 years. I officially started losing in mid February and after a health scare in May involving my gallbladder and pancreas, the effort was amped up resulting in my current loss. I am starting to like clothes shopping again. I can only imagine what it will be like once I reach my goal (which is currently to lose 162lbs total) :)

One more thing- I can't promise this will be updated as frequently as some other blogs but I will be honest and update you as I remember. If no one ends up reading this then I'll just keep it as my own online journal.

Cheers!

  1. So far I have lost (and kept off) almost a cinder block over the past two years! That seems pretty great in context! My goal is 60 lbs, which seems to be the weight of an elephant penis. I might not announce it as that when it happens.

Congrats on your loss so far!

  2. That's fantastic Rachelle! Congrats on your loss so far. It's hard to get it off (but so easy to put it on). I have found that my body has changed a lot after having a baby too.. have you found that? I carry most of my weight around my middle and I'm guessing it will be the last to go.
Keep it up and before you know it you'll have lost that elephant penis HAHA
